The REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive will once again combine its traditional collection and distribution of warm clothes and blankets this year with an online fundraiser to help people in need across the Lower Mainland.

The REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive will run from November 14 to 21.

The 29-year-old campaign is a partnership among the Lower Mainland’s three real estate boards, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV), the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB), and the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board (CADREB).

The public can drop donations off at one of these 100 plus participating real estate offices throughout the campaign. Realtor volunteers then sort and deliver the donations to charities and organizations in the same area in which they were collected. 

"Our partner charities are in need of blankets and winter coats with winter conditions and below-freezing temperatures arriving early this year," said Jennifer Quart, REBGV chair. "The need for these winter clothing items is as great as it's ever been."

“The success of the REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive, which has been going strong for nearly 30 years, would not be possible without our Realtor members – and the public – who give so generously to support this important cause,” said Narinder Bains, Chair of FVREB. “The Blanket Drive has impacted the lives of countless individuals, providing warmth and comfort during the colder months, while demonstrating one of the many ways our members build and support the communities where we live, work and play.”

Items needed this year:

  • blankets, sleeping bags
  • winter clothing - coats, jeans, pants, sweaters
  • scarves, gloves, mitts, hats
  • socks (new)
  • underwear (new)

Since the Blanket Drive began, the program has helped more than 480,000 people in our communities keep warm and dry.

Each year, more than 20,000 Realtors in the region work with their clients and a network of charitable organizations in Lower Mainland communities to collect and distribute blankets and lightly used clothing.
