Today marks the beginning of the 24th annual REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive – the largest and longest running program of its kind in the Lower Mainland.

Realtors across the region are working with their clients to coordinate thousands of donations of blankets, sleeping bags, warm winter clothing, and new socks and underwear for those in need.

The donations are then sorted and delivered to partner charities and organizations in the same community in which they were collected. The program helps approximately 35,000 Lower Mainland residents each year.

We encourage all Lower Mainland residents to bring donations to one of the 157 participating real estate offices.

“With the rainy season already here and winter just around the corner, the need for warm and dry clothes can’t be understated,” Phil Moore, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver president said.

“Donating blankets and clothing through our annual Blanket Drive is an effective way to directly help those in our communities who need it the most.”

Since the Blanket Drive began in 1994, the program has helped more than 345,000 people in our communities keep warm and dry.

Items we need:

  • Blankets or sleeping bags, gently used or new
  • Warm clothing - coats, jeans, pants, sweaters
  • Hats, gloves, scarves, mittens
  • New socks and underwear
