For many REALTORS®, their profession is about more than selling real estate. It means being an active part of their community.
REALTORS® have raised millions of dollars and volunteered countless hours to many worthy causes.
That’s why, in 1999, the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver created the REALTORS® Care Awards, a community service recognition program that recognizes individuals and companies who give back to the neighbourhoods where they
live and work.

In 2008, Arnold Shuchat, of Multiple Realty Ltd. in Richmond, helped raise $40,000 for the Richmond Jewish Day School and the Louis Brier Foundation for the Aged by organizing a hugely successful ‘Battle of the Bands’ fundraiser. His belief that the young and the old rely on the support of each other drove him to unite these two organizations for this event. The lively fundraiser was such a hit that it has become an annual event. |

Justin Wyllie, of RE/MAX Sabre Realty Group in Port Coquitlam, led the Tri-Cities Operation Red Nose program to great success. His enthusiasm attracted a record number of volunteers to the program and provided 258 party-goers with a safe ride home last holiday season. Through his tireless efforts, the program was able to more than triple its donation to Kidsport, an organization which helps to give underprivileged kids the opportunity to enrol in community sports programs. |
